Tony Hawk To Deliver Keynote Address To U.S. Parks Officials

Tony Hawk will address parks-and-recreation officials at this year's national convention.
4/6/11 (Vista, CA) - Tony Hawk will deliver the Keynote address at the 2011 National Recreation And Parks Association Congress this Fall. Taking place in Atlanta, Georgia, the event will bring thousands of municipal park directors from across the U.S. together for their annual convention.
The Keynote Address is the focal point of the Congress, and each year attracts standing-room-only crowds. With intense interest among parks officials in skateparks, Tony's experience as both a traveling pro and a ten-year veteran of operating a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping build municipal skateparks uniquely qualifies him to speak on this subject.
Atlanta is also home to the newly constructed Beltway Skatepark, a skatepark that received one of the Tony Hawk Foundation's top grant awards in 2010. The 2011 NRPA Congress will also feature a Skatepark Development seminar conducted by the Tony Hawk Foundation and the nonprofit Skaters For Public Skateparks.
Parks officials looking to be inspired, to learn about successful skatepark development, and to see an exceptional example of a great skatepark in a community poised to benefit from it should attend this year's NRPA Congress.
For skatepark advocates, Tony's address to the Congress attendees is an unprecedented opportunity to deliver the message about skateparks and the communities they serve to the nation's municipal-parks decision makers.
